Economy of Armenia
From a population total of 3,021,324, the labor force is 1.507 million (2017 est.). The main products in agriculture are: fruit (especially grapes and apricots), vegetables; livestock. Among the main industries considerable for the economy are: brandy, mining, diamond processing, metal-cutting machine tools, forging and pressing machines, electric motors, knitted wear, hosiery, shoes, silk fabric, chemicals, trucks, instruments, microelectronics, jewelry, software, food processing. Its exports cover unwrought copper, pig iron, nonferrous metals, gold, diamonds, mineral products, foodstuffs, brandy, cigarettes, energy. The main import products are: natural gas, petroleum, tobacco products, foodstuffs, diamonds, pharmaceuticals, cars.
