1. Visit the Berliner Dom
   This iconic Berlin landmark is definitely not to be missed. This cathedral’s inside is filled with pieces of art that will surely mesmerize anyone. Admission is free during services, and our recommendation is to check the schedule beforehand.
2. Brandenburg Gate
   The Brandenburg Gate used to be a symbol of the division between two sides of the city, but became a symbol of unity after the demolition of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

   Berlin’s parks are an absolute delight. WIth many destinations to choose from, you can schedule a day during your trip to Berlin to walk around the parks, maybe run, hike or take a bike with you. Try the Central district of Tiergarten Tempelhofer Park and Schlosspark Charlottenburg.

   Spanning 6000 years’ worth of art, artefacts, sculpture and architecture from Europe and beyond, this complex spreads across five grand museums, taking up the entire northern side of the little Spree Island.
2. The Berlin Wall Memorial
   This is the main memorial site of the German division. The outdoor grounds are open daily from 8a.m. to 10 p.m.
3. Potsdamer Platz
   Potsdamer Platz is the place to go if you’re looking for a little more than just museums, history and culture. This area is filled with shops, theaters, spa centers and much more. This is where you will catch a glimpse of the vibrant life in Berlin.

1. Natur-Park Schöneberger Südgelände
   The Tempelhof railway yard is a forgotten place, where abandoned remains of technology collided with nature. Walk around to see the abandoned water towers, trains and railways and you will feel like you have traveled back in time!
2. Peacock Island
   Peacock Island and its palace are located on the River Havel. This idyllic island is home to a wonderful white castle and beautiful parklands. Guess what creatures roam around here? Yes, peacocks! This lovely place is perfect if you want to escape the bustle of Berlin for a romantic rendez-vous.
3. Straussee Lake
   The lake is located a bit further away from the heart of Berlin, but it is another great place to go if you want to relax and unwind. This is a great spot for hiking and swimming (if you’re visiting in the summer, of course).

Recommended time for visiting

The best month to visit Berlin is May or September. The hot summers can be a bit much for some people, and it also rains more often during the hot season, so spring and autumn are the perfect alternative. Early spring is still cold, recovering from the winter, so May is the best choice, while September is the last month that sports some pretty warm temperatures.
